Parent Volunteers Needed
Please contact Principal Anderson if you are willing to serve on any of the following school and Fremont Unified Committees:
English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC): Works with School Site representative, attends SSC and District ELAC meetings, 12 hours/ school year commitment.
Parent Representative Advisory Assembly (PRAA): Attends district meetings 1x/month, report information to Principal, 10 hours/school year commitment.
Gifted and Talented Advisory Education (GATE) Advisory Committee: Attend district meetings, report information to Principal, 10 hours/school year commitment.
Before and After School Safety Patrol: Oliveira is looking for parent volunteers to support Safety Patrol. This position will be active for 20 minutes before the start of school and for 20 minutes after school has let out. Those parents interested in helping to serve in this very important capacity, please contact Mrs. Linda Anderson.
School Site Council (SSC): SSC is a 10 member council responsible for reviewing Oliveira’s improvement plan and its effectiveness. If necessary, the council makes recommendations and modifications in the plan to reflect changes in the school’s goals, needs and priorities, the safety plan and other documents. SSC also helps to review budgets to ensure consistency with our Mission Statement, the LCAP and Education Code. The SSC is made up of FIVE STAFF members and FIVE PARENTS (plus three non -voting alternates). Parent members are nominated and elected by parents. If you are a member or alternate, your commitment includes a monthly meeting. SSC usually meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 4:00 p.m., for 1 hour. Members are elected to TWO-YEAR terms. Once members are elected, results will be published in the Oliveira Newsletter.
